The search for the ideal ringtone is similar
to Ideal Image - it consisted of performing a statistical analysis of over
600 ringtones from the website www.mobilemelodies.com. The musical sequences
were analysied to create a single tone which encapsulates the most frequently
occuring notes and their duration (plus the overall length of the music).
At the moment I have no time to present a web version of this piece, but
you can download an mp3 which consists of the 'running average' changing
as the music is processed here (~750kb) or
you can just download the final ('ideal') ringtone here
